We are thrilled to welcome Tuba Skinny, a New Orleans dixieland jazz band, for a special show in the lounge tonight at 7pm! A fixture of the New Orleans Royal Street music scene, Tuba Skinny takes its listeners back in time to the traditional dixieland jazz and old blues music of the nineteen twenties and thirties. This charismatic seven-piece band features banjo, guitar, tuba, washboard, trombone, trumpet and vocals that will make you nostalgic for another time and place.
Holmes’ and Beal’s family (lovers of great jazz), were stopped in their tracks when they heard members of this band playing on the streets of New Orleans. They befriended them, and bring them up to Virginia twice a year for their annual jazz parties. We are excited to finally get them to Vermont!
Tuba Skinny has been touring Europe and the northeast, and after a week playing on Church Street they are making a special appearance at Two Brothers tonight. Doors open at 6:30pm; the music starts at 7pm. Join us for dinner in the lounge tonight while enjoying a FREE show from Tuba Skinny!
Tuba Skinny has released two albums, both of which can be found on their website: www.tubaskinny.tk.
